Week whatever week this is‏

Goddag!!! Hvordan Går det? Jeg er meget smuk!

Wow, another week down! I've been out 1 month already! Well, in 2 days its a month. I can't believe how fast its going! I'm already 1/24 of the way done with my mish!

Sorry, I don't really have any good stories to tell you. Not much exciting things happen here. Every day is basically the same thing. Study...
I feel like I'm learning so much. This last week, the language has really taken off. Now that I have a foundation, I can now learn a ton of new vocab. Me and my comp have taught a few lessons in Danish already. Its pretty cool. Camron, if you read this, I just wanna say that Danish is at least 50 times better than Japanese.

Mom, I'm glad you like the pictures that I sent home. Sorry that there weren't more of me, but you know how I am with pictures, I like to make them artistic. I'll try to respond to the questions and comments you had.

Yeah, its cool that Ældste Shreeve hasn't seen snow. He was fascinated with it for awhile. Funny story, he was looking off to the side admiring the snow, and he walked directly into a metal pole! Hahahaha! And he hit it hard! It was pretty funny. I think he is over the snow now, and he is just freezing.

Yeah, me and Ælsdste Hansen are about the same height, I'm actually about a half an inch taller.. just sayin. Ældste Van Nevel is way funny. He really does remind me a ton of Elder Calhun. He isn't the DL, but even better, he and Ældste Shreeve are the Zone Leaders.

Yeah, we spend a lot of time studying in that room. It can get pretty boring sometimes but I learn so much. I'll be glad though when I leave here and never have to go to that room again.

For our Thanksgiving Service Project we put together some humanitarian kits. It was a good experience, the best though was listening to Elder Holland talk afterwards.

I'm glad you liked my temple pics. I really like how they turned out. The temple looks really pretty at night time so I just had to take a bunch of pictures. No, I haven't run into anyone I know at the temple yet. But before it snowed, when the MTC field was open I played soccer out there a couple times and it was weird to think who was driving by that I might know. Something thats kinda sad is the temple is closing until jan 5 for renovations. So today will be my last time at the temple for awhile.
I'm glad you liked the pictures of our pathetic Christmas tree too. It really brings the Christmas Spirit. It's crazy that Christmas is almost here! It doesn't feel like Christmas to me at all! It going to be way different, but I'm excited to see what I'll do here on Christmas. I bet they will have an Apostle talk! My guess is Dieter F Uchtdorf. But who knows?

(If anyone reading this wants to see the pics, just go over to my house sometime. I'm sure my mom would love to have you over and look through them with you)

That must have been fun to see Garebear and the rest of the Bonhams. How are they all doing? I haven't seen them in so long.

Well, I guess I have a few things that happened this week that I can tell you about. First of all, in one day the Dutch Elders and the English Elders all left. Our branch went from about 40 people to literally 6 Elders!! It was sad to say goodbye to them. Today though, we got 22 new missionaries in our branch. It'll be nice to get to know them, and to not be the newbies anymore. ;)

Umm, the devotional speaker yesterday was Richard J Maynes, of the Seventy, and his wife. It was pretty good, but I am ready for another Apostle.

Oh yeah, here is the update on Ælste Van Nevel's foot. It is basically healed! He no longer limps or anything, so that is great!

Well, other than that, nothing is new. Sorry I don't have any good stories. When I go to Denmark I'm sure I'll have plenty of good stories to tell you.

My email time has come to a close, so I have to get going. Thanks everyone who has sent me letters, and keep them coming please. I'll try my best to respond to them. Glædelig Jul!!! (Merry Christmas)

Vi ses (see ya)

Goddag!!! Hvordan Går det? Jeg er meget smuk!

Goddag min familie! Hvordan går det? Everything is still going well. Sorry I don't ever have any cool stories or anything in my emails. Not much excitement happens here at the MTC. I'm sure when I get to Denmark I'll have plenty of great stories to tell you. I have a few things to tell you about though, so here it goes.

I've been here for over a month already! Can you believe that?! Because I sure can't! It's gone by so fast! I'm more than half way done with my MTC experience! (Well, if I get my visa on time) The Danish is definitely coming. I now teach entirely in Danish! And I've only been here for 5 weeks!!! We've taught several lessons in Danish now, and it goes really well. Each time we are able to say more, and understand the investigator more. I'm completely losing all of my Japanese speaking ability. A few days ago I ran into some missionaries from Japan so I tried to talk with them for awhile, but I COULDN"T! I seriously would try, but It would come out in Danish!

Yesterday Neil L Anderson, of the Quorum of the Twelve, came to the devotional. He gave a great talk! I remember when he first spoke at conference a few months ago, and how he seemed kind of nervous or unsure, but he has completely changed into an Apostle. He gave an awesome talk about Christ. So now I've heard from 3 Apostles while I've been here! And I'm hoping for another one on Christmas!

Wow! Christmas!!! I still can't believe it's here! It's starting to feel a little bit more like Christmas to me, but without our Christmas traditions its just not the same. I'll miss you all an extra amount on Christmas. I'm excited to open presents! I still haven't gotten the gifts from you, but I hope they get here before Christmas. I've also gotten a few other presents from friends and family.

The Proselyting Center (formerly known as the Referral Center) has been awesome! Well, for the last couple weeks I hated it, cuz I would call tons of people, but every single one would go to an answering machine, or they would hang up on me. But on friday I went and called a lady named Debra. She had called for a copy of the Together Forever DVD so I called her back and talked to her a little about family and the restoration, and I shared my testimony with her. She seemed really open to it, but her husband is Baptist and doesn't want anything to do with it, so she wouldn't let me send some missionaries over there. She did however say that I could call her back and tell her more, so after the holidays I'll call her back, and hopefully I'll be able to bless her life. :)
Oh yeah, also that same day at the PC, I called a guy who's name was "Teddy Bear Childcare Martinez" HAHAHAHAHA He didn't answer, It went to the answering machine, but I thought that was hilarious!

This week, Chelsey sent me and my comps some In n Out cheeseburgers and fries in the mail! It was the best package ever! (No offense to you and the packages you sent me, mom) The burgers were so good! Everyone in our building was so jealous of me. They couldn't believe that someone sent me burgers in the mail. Hahaha. Thanks again Chels!

um, the new missionaries are pretty cool. It's weird, it seems like they are so much younger than us month long missionaries. They all turn to us for advice, and its cool being the cool experienced missionaries for awhile. It won't be like that for much longer. One of the new missionaries in our area is Elder Unga, Harvey Unga's lil bro. He is way cool, and he has an Optimus Prime voice that sounds exactly like the real thing. Its awesome! In a week or two, some new Dutch missionaries are coming in, and one of them is Donny Osmand's kid. Its kinda cool who I meet here.

I still haven't had to give the talk in sacrement meeting yet, but It's got to be here soon. I did however have to give the lesson in our district meeting on sunday. And I wasn't even told that I had to until 9:30 the night before! It actually went really well though.

Well, I'm just about out of time. The 30 minutes for email is the fastest 30 minutes ever! I'll talk to you later. Thank you so much for everything! And I love you! Have a wonderful Christmas!

Dec.9, 2009

Hey everyone!!! I am out of breath right now because I just sprinted back from the Temple. It took longer than we thought it would and we don't have much email time. I don't have my letters or anything with me right now, cuz we didn't have time to go back to our room to get them, so I will try my best to remember what you asked and said. I'm having trouble remembering what happened this week because it has gone by so fast!! It seems like yesterday was my last P-Day! It is crazy how fast it is going! Overall, it was a very good week. And I'm not just saying that so you will feel good, Mom. It really has been great here. Yeah, I have some times that are hard, but the good parts outway the bad by far. I got some pictures devoloped and I'm going to send them home soon, so you can see what I've been up to. If you want, you can scan some of them and put them up on the blog or something. There has been some really good food here lately. And I have probably eaten more than I should have. A couple days ago they had some spicy boneless chickin wings that tasted a ton like Winger's Sticky Fingers!!! They weren't as good as Wingers, but it was still really good. They also have a crab and shrimp salad that tastes a ton like Grandma's crab salad! It's delicious! Oh and they have Blueberry Muffintops, so that makes me pretty happy. :) We had another great devotional last night. The speaker was Claudio R. M. Costa, from the Presidency of the Seventy. He has a crazy awesome accent. It was fun to listen to him just because of his accent, but he also gave an amazing talk about planning. Yeah, I know, planning doesn't sound like a very interesting topic, but it was a way good talk. Dang, I had a list of things I wanted to talk about, but I don't have it with me and I forgot everything... Oh, thanks for the stamps. It saved me like 7 bucks. And thanks for the letters you send. The Dear Elder site is back in action, so feel free to use that as much as you want. So I was called as the Branch Music Coordinator (because I was the only person who knows how to lead music...) So that basically means that I choose the hymns for sundays and try to find someone to play the piano. My branch president says that I should relearn how to play the piono... But I don't know about that. Well, everything is going great. The progressive investigator thing is going well. I'm amazed at how much I can actually comprehend and speak! I still have a ton to learn though. I still sing in the choir every week. It is actually pretty fun. Who woulda thought? Oh yeah, since Tani, Tia, and Jansen wrote me, I'll write them all write now. I'll try to remember what they asked me. Tani, Hey lil sis! How's everything going? How's school and all that fun stuff? I'm just partying here at the MTC. Yeah, of course I still do the hand thing when I eat. And no, of course it doesn't annoy everyone, cuz its not even a weird thing to do. You're just a weird kid for thinking its weird. I miss you Tani. Tia, How's it going lil cutie? That's so cool how good you are doing in school!! You are one smart little kid! You should write me a letter sometime and show me how good you are at cursive. Are you excited for Christmas?! I miss you too Tia! Janny Sue, What up Dawg?! Are all of your bones still intact? Be careful with all your flips and junk. Why the heck would that commercial about a camera remind you of me? Thats weird. How are you liking high school? I miss you too, punk. So what do all you kids want for Christmas? Its just around the corner, although it doesn't feel like it at all to me. Have you been naughty or nice? Well, I'm almost out of time. Mom, I still need Camron's address so I can get a hold of him. He sent me a dear elder the first week and I can't get back to him. I love you all and I miss you. Remember to write me many letters! ;)Have a great week, and Glædelig Jul!!! (Happy Christmas) (Its not pronounced anything like you might think...See ya later!! Love Ældste Tyler Lee

Handwritten letter 12/04/09

Hey there!
Here is a bill for you. I had to get the 2 Hepitis booster shots yesterday, and they cost $117! I'll let you take care of that.

I just recently learned that the Dear Elder site has been down for a few days so I haven't been getting those. I don't know if you have sent any recently, but if you have I haven't gotten them. I don't know how long it will be down for.

So I guess it's the last episode of Monk tonight, right? I'll just have to wait for a couple years before I see it. I wonder what big movies and TV shows I wil miss.

hmmm, what has happened here recently? Well, we started a progressive investigator thing. My teacher acts like and investigator and yesterday we contacted him in the "park", (in Danish), and set up a teaching appointment. We are teaching him the first lesson tonight in Danish.

Well that's about it for now.

Have a great week! I'l sen you another email on Wednesday. Bye bye!

Dec. 2, 2009

Hey there family, and anyone else who reads this!! Hvordan går det?! (How goes it?) This week has been really good. I can't believe how fast this past week has gone by. It seems like just yesterday was my last P-Day! I'm trying to think of what happened this past week, but I'm having trouble remembering. We had another devotional on Tuesday. The Church Primary President, Sister Lant, and her husband spoke at it. It was really good. I sang in the choir again. Oh yeah, We have gone to the prosilyting (or however its spelled) center (formorly known as the Referal Center, it was recently changed) I've been talking to this investigator, Charles Daniels on the phone who read the book of mormon and believes that it is true, he also believes that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, but he is reluctant to have the missionaries come over because he lives with his parents and they really oppose the church. So I have been talking with him and trying to help him. It is so cool talking to these people, because it is real missionary work, not just fake MTC practice stuff. Something that is really hard living without is music! It is now a rule at the MTC that we cannot have ANY music at all! Because some missionary brought an Ipod touch and got on the internet. So I can't listen to anything! So I guess that is probably a big reason that I am going to choir, so I can actually hear music. I go to the temple on P-days. I'm gonna go there right after I'm done emailing. It was closed last week because of Thanksgiving, so this will be my first time since I've been here. I'm pretty excited! I heard about the BYU-Utah game! It sounds like it was a great game! I bet Jansen was pretty bummed out about the outcome. My friend Alice sent me a University of Utah tie pin in a package because she knows that I'm a BYU fan, so on the day of the big game I wore a red tie and U of U pin. So Ældste Van Nevel, the one who fell off the bed, he went to the doctor yesterday and found out that he fractured his heel! It was like his second day here and he already broke his foot! He is going back to the hospital later today to see what needs to be done about it. I hope it doesn't hold him back or anything. There are a lot of Christmas lights up now at the MTC. It is really pretty. We also decorated a little christmas tree and put it in our room. It is crazy that Christmas is almost here! It doesn't feel like Christmas at all! Yeah mom, don't worry, I'm taking plenty of pictures. The mtc can print them off for pretty cheap, so sometime soon I will print some and send them home. That is awesome to hear about Jeremy and Heidi's news!!! That's exciting! Tell them congrats. Oh yeah, I had a few things I wanted to tell you. First of all, I need Camron's address and/or email address. He sent me a Dear Elder, but it had our home address so I don't know how to get a letter to him. And also I would prefer if while I'm in the MTC you only send me Dear Elders or hand written letters, not emails. Because I don't get to read the emails until Wednesday's, and I only have a half an hour for email. So that would be great if you do that. Well I'm just about out of time, so I gotta get going. Let me know how everyone is doing, and tell them hi for me. Have a great week!! Love Ældste Lee
